Build integrated solutions with Hardata
HARDATA provides tools for developing applications that query, manage, and control different aspects of radio and television operations with HARDATA HDX or DINESAT.Using documented, standards-based interfaces, external systems can be integrated, processes can be automated, and new experiences can be built on the Hardata Platform. For example, developers can create operations dashboards, management tools, analytics systems, business integrations, or intelligent applications that assist with scheduling and on-air operations.
The platform provides two complementary tools:
- HARDATA API, for querying and managing media, metadata, catalogs, advertising traffic, and scheduling.
- HARDATA ECP (External Control Protocol), for monitoring and controlling HDX/DINESAT in real time.
They can be used independently or together. An application can use HARDATA API to retrieve information and manage resources, while using HARDATA ECP to monitor playback status and operate an HDX/DINESAT instance.
The published specifications include the contracts, data structures, connection flows, and recommendations required to develop a complete integration.
HARDATA API
HTTP interface that allows external applications to integrate with the services and data of the Hardata Platform.Through its endpoints, an application can authenticate, query and manage media and metadata, access catalogs, work with advertising traffic, and execute scheduling functions.
The API uses HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, and token-based authentication. Its documentation describes the available resources, the parameters for each operation, the data models, and response and error handling.
When an application also needs to monitor or control in real time what is happening in HDX/DINESAT, HARDATA API can be combined with HARDATA ECP.
HARDATA ECP
Communication protocol that allows an external application to monitor and control HDX/DINESAT in real time.Through a WebSocket connection, the application can receive window status, query playlists, track playback, and execute authorized actions, such as starting or stopping media, selecting items, or modifying operational parameters.
The protocol includes session management, authentication, authorization, and control arbitration. This allows different applications to connect securely without needing to know the internal communication mechanisms of HDX/DINESAT.
HARDATA ECP is designed for developing remote panels, automation systems, intelligent assistants, and other solutions that need to react immediately to on-air status. To query or manage media, metadata, and advertising traffic, it can be used together with HARDATA API.
